The 21 union members, consisting of Vietnamese businesses operating in cybersecurity, made their debut during a conference to summarise the work of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in 2019, held in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
At the launching ceremony, Nguyen Huy Dung, Head of the MIC’s Authority of Information Security, said that over 80% of network security products used in Vietnam are imported, meanwhile, Vietnamese enterprises have mastered the technology and can meet over 60% of a full network security and safety ecosystem.
The MIC has specified tasks and roadmaps to develop Vietnam's full network security and safety product ecosystem with quality products to meet domestic demand as well as for export. At the same time, the ministry is also drastically implementing solutions on mechanisms, policies and technical standards to expand markets for Vietnamese products, especially those in protecting e-government, smart cities and important national information systems.
The goal set for 2020 is for Vietnamese network security products to meet the demands of a full ecosystem of network security products, and to make Vietnam's network security products account for over 75% of the domestic market and export to regional countries by 2025, Dung said.
He added that the 21-member union is committed to focusing resources and promoting the unique strengths of each enterprise to develop quality products, capable of competing with foreign products, forming a full ecosystem of Vietnam products serving e-government, smart cities and national important information systems.
