As for Dorsey, it is unclear how his account was taken over but a look at now-deleted tweets revealed that the group used Cloudhopper to send tweets from Dorsey’s account. Cloudhopper is a Twitter-owned service supporting the company to help its SMS service. This also suggests that the group may have breached Dorsey’s account by hacking a third-party app authorized on his account.
