Strengthening Alliances in the Pacific - U.S. and Japan Conduct 15th Information Technology Forum

Honorable John Sherman, Department of Defense Chief Information Officer, met with UEDA Kouji Defense Councilor for Cyber Security and Information Technology Management, and other members of Japanese Ministry of Defense for the U.S.-Japan IT Forum from 25 to 29 September.

The 10 person DoD delegation included representatives from the DoD CIO, USD(R&E) and USINDOPACOM. During this event, hosted by the Japanese Ministry of Defense, the delegations discussed initiatives and lessons learned in a variety of areas of mutual interest including Zero Trust, DoD's Cybersecurity Certification Maturity Model program, cloud security, spectrum superiority strategy and operations, and 5G implementations.


The forum continued the work of both nations to develop greater interoperability and maintain our strong relationship.
