The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office last week released footage of the Parkrose High student who brought a gun into a classroom and was disarmed by football coach and former Ducks receiver Keanon Lowe.


District officials contend that the video, which was first obtained by KOIN through a public records request, should never have been released. You can read The Oregonian/OregonLive Editor Therese Bottomly’s letter explaining this newsroom’s decision to post the footage.

Hillsboro’s Glencoe High School is opening its theater season Nov. 8 with “A Good Farmer,” a story about ICE raids in upstate New York circa 2006. Advance tickets are $7 and $10 at the door. The show is recommended for ages 13 and older because of the subject matter. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and repeats Nov. 9 and Nov. 14-16.


In West Linn, the theater program will kick off its 2019 season with the high school edition of “Chicago.” Theatre Arts Program Director Steve Beckingham said he chose a spate of works that take place in the ‘20s this year as the district to commemorate West Linn High celebrating its 100th anniversary. “These Shining Lives,” a tale of woman factory workers who came down with radon poisoning in the 1920s, will premiere in March. “Chicago” runs Nov. 8, 9, 14 and 16 at 7 p.m., Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance for adults, $12 at the door. The student rate is $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
