Opportunity to Comment - Programmatic Agreement

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) proposes to implement a Programmatic Agreement (PA), consistent with 36 CFR § 800.14(b), to fulfill NIST’s obligations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act for the NIST campus accessed off County Road 58 in Larimer County, Colorado, east of the city of Fort Collins.

Each year, NIST consults with the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation of the Colorado State Historic Preservation Office (CO SHPO) and others on the design of facility improvement projects (undertakings) through the Section 106 process. NIST proposes to implement a PA with preservation partners, including the CO SHPO, to ensure consistent and efficient compliance with Section 106 while continuing to meet NIST’s scientific mission. The PA will assist with the preservation of the facilities determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places and located on the NIST Fort Collins campus.

NIST has consulted with the CO SHPO on the development of the PA. This notice is to inform members of the public of the proposed PA, and to solicit their comments. Comments must be submitted to %20phillip.neuberg [at] nist.gov (Phillip Neuberg) via email on or before June 15, 2023.
