NIST: Ongoing work to establish IoT security guidance will help on compliance with new law

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is well-positioned to meet deadlines in a recently enacted law requiring the agency to come up with federal guidance to secure Internet of Things devices, according to a NIST official leading the agency’s IoT research.


“We saw the proposed IoT Cyber Improvement Act evolve over time and we always knew there was great interest in this area,” Katerina Megas, program manager for the NIST Cybersecurity for IoT program, told Inside Cybersecurity.
