Veeam's Microsoft Partnership Extending to Backup-as-a-Service and Copilot AI Collaborations

  • Veeam announced on Thursday that its continued partnership with Microsoft on protecting Azure and Microsoft 365 customer data will also include an integration of "Microsoft Copilot and AI services."


    The two companies have inked a "multi-year engineering collaboration" on backup and recovery solutions that address cybersecurity issues, in addition to protections for "outages and natural disasters." Specifically, the companies are collaborating on Veeam solutions for "data protection" and "ransomware recovery" for Microsoft 365 and Azure customers, according to Anand Eswaran, Veeam's CEO. He also pointed to integration with Microsoft's Copilot generative artificial intelligence tools.


    "This partnership will also deliver incredible joint innovation, including bringing the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot to the Veeam product family," Eswaran said in a released statement.


    The idea of integrating Microsoft's Copilot AI tools with Veeam solutions was also echoed by Justin Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft.


    "Together with Veeam, we are already helping millions of users fully protect their business data across Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure," Althoff said in a released statement.
