Last week, TrustArc held its third Privacy Risk Summit which coincided with the launch of PrivacyCentral, the first data intelligence center that provides a single point of entry for managing every phase of an organization’s privacy journey. As the creation and management of ongoing privacy programs continues to rely on repetitive compliance processes as a new regulation is introduced, the Summit provided over 40 thought-provoking speakers and more than 20 sessions covering numerous privacy topics including ways to break down barriers to build comprehensive data privacy programs.
The Summit brought together privacy thought leaders, experts and practitioners that shared their perspectives and best practices on the current and future privacy landscape. The two-day event had sessions covering regulatory developments, real-life practical management, tech solution demos, analyst perspectives and TrustArc client case studies.
The Summit held all-star keynote sessions, the first being “A New Era of Privacy: Perspectives from Privacy Practitioners” featuring panelists Trevor Hughes, Jules Polonetsky, Bojana Bellamy, Hilary Wandall, and Chris Babel. During the roundtable, these experts explored the privacy challenges presented during 2020, trends in privacy and risk management and the role technology can play in addressing these hurdles. Day two keynote session was “To Penalties and Beyond: Looking Ahead by Looking Back on Enforcement Actions” with speakers Helen Dixon, Zee Kin Yeong, David Stevens and Hilary Wandall. The panel discussed trends in enforcement worldwide, how to interpret those actions, and predictions around future enforcement actions.
