Separate health data breaches hit Onix Group, others
Pennsylvania-based management and consulting service provider Onix Group, New York-based Maimonides Medical Center, and global IT services firm iSpace have reported being impacted by separate healthcare data breaches, according to HealthITSecurity. Onix Group has confirmed that a ransomware attack in March has led to the breach, which has impacted 319,500 individuals across its affiliates including Onix Hospitality Group, Cadia Healthcare, Addiction Recovery Systems, and Physician's Mobile X-Ray. Aside from names and Social Security numbers, data compromised in the incident included clinical, billing, and scheduling data at the healthcare affiliates. On the other hand, Maimonides Medical Center had data from 33,000 patients, including their names, Social Security numbers, addresses, and health information, accessed in a cyber incident in March. Unauthorized network access has also been reported by iSpace to be behind the compromise of 24,382 individuals' data, including their names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, health insurance policy numbers, prescription details, and diagnoses.
