No incidence of cyberattack in KLIA systems disruption
It’s nearly back to normal at the KLIA main terminal.

KUALA LUMPUR: The systems disruption at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is not due to any incidence of cyberattack, the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) said.

In a statement last night, it said preliminary findings by Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) indicated that the disruption since Aug 21 was due to network equipment failure.

“Currently, all efforts are focused on ensuring the full recovery of operations at KLIA and klia2. MAHB has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to expedite the recovery process,” Bernama quoted NACSA as saying.

The agency said it will continue to monitor and conduct further investigation with all related agencies.

Reports said the situation at KLIA has improved with the main terminal less crowded and manageable queues at the check-in counters after MAHB took measures to replace the faulty network equipment.
