MP Ndindi Nyoro’s Facebook page hacked | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #hacker

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has losthis Facebook page to hackers.






The page, which has over 500,000 followers, seemsto have escaped its owner’s hands just after he shared a New Year’s message tohis followers – at least 24 hours ago.






While acknowledging the hacking, the legislatortook to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the news while also addingthat his team was working on resolving the matter.





“My Facebook page was hacked yesterday. We aretrying to resolve the problem…We are African and Africa is ourBusiness…” he tweeted.






The National Assembly’s Budget and AppropriationsCommittee Chair last posted on the page Monday morning conveying a New Yearmessage to Kenyans.






“Wishing you all a prosperous New Year, 2024.Nawatakia baraka tele mwaka mpya. We are African and Africa is our Business,” readthe post.






Following the incident, Embakasi East MP Babu Owinohas claimed that the hackers are now soliciting money from him while pretendingto be the Kiharu lawmaker.






“Hon Ndindi Nyoro’s Facebook account has beenhacked and hackers are inboxing me to send them money,” he wrote on X.






On his part, digital strategist Dennis Itumbi hasurged Kenyans to ignore the updates and inbox messages being shared by thehackers.






“Please take note that hackers have taken controlof the FB profile of Ndindi Nyoro and the official page. We are working to recoverand restore the pages,” he said.
