While his statements have created a storm on Twitter let's find out more about the man himself. Peiter "Mudge" Zatko is a hacker and an American cybersecurity expert. Hired by Jack Dorsey in 2020 after Twitter suffered a massive cyber attack, Zatko was the security head of the company from November 2020 to January 2022. Before his stint at Twitter, Zatko has worked with payments major Stripe, BBN tech, and even Google.

Mudge

"Mudge" is Peiter Zatko's hacker nickname. Zatko now 51, was born in Boston, US, while he graduated from Berklee School of Music, his love for hacking and cyber security made him switch to the field of computers. In the 90s he was a part of the L0Pht an ethical hacker group, later the group formed a business by the name of L0pht Heavy Industries. "Mudge" was a part of Cult of the Dead Cow (cDc) a hacker group and a DIY media org. Mudge published some of the first security advisories and research demonstrating early vulnerabilities in Unix such as code injection, side-channel attacks, and information leaks, and was a leader in the full disclosure movement.
