(RIGHT WIRE REPORT) – It’s been a tricky situation for President Joe Biden, who has bowed down several times to Russian President Vladimir Putin in recent weeks. Just last week, he denied any wrongdoing by the Kremlin with regards to the colonial pipeline cyber attacks even though he admitted the attack came from Russia.
Fast forward another week, and Biden has again given Russia yet more power. This time, it comes in the form of the Nord Stream 2 project. This is a controversial gas pipeline that spans from Russia to Germany and supplies much of Europe with gas supplies. Up until recently, the US had imposed economic sanctions on Russia involving this project. That is until Biden dropped those sanctions this week.
So, why is this so relevant? In brief, it goes against what Biden has previously stated in the recent past. His Secretary of State Antony Blinken has also previously stated, “We are determined to do whatever we can to prevent that completion of Nord Stream 2.” which only makes Biden look foolish or weak given his new stance.
