Internet very slow or dropped connection
I have been at the house I'm at for about 3.5 yrs. I use a wifi connection. We've always had issues w/dropped connections at least once/day, but the owner has a call into comcast (finally) about that. But on my pc, I have super super slow connections randomly. As in 1992 speeds of 64 Kbps. (that's when using an online speed checker, late last Dec)Owner will not let me hardwire into his modem, so here I am. Though interestingly, When on my phone it's usually not slow, as in 2.4 or so Mbps. So I did an experiment...I used my phone and checked speeds in various rooms, one right by my pc. And speeds were about the same, maybe slightly slower than by the hardwired pc (which is 15 feet from mine). So I figured it's my pc or my adapter.  So I bought a new adapter (TP Link) and seems to have helped. In Network Connections > Status > General, it says speed: 144.4 Mbps. However, I'm also downloading a large game, and it's at about 400 Kbps. No CLUE what is going on. I have cleaned out my pcI have run 2 memory tests, memory is fineI have done chkdsk on all 4 HDs = No issuesI have changed to a static IP = didn't see any changesI'm running a SuperAntiSpyware scan now, then Ill run a scan w/Windows Defender Here is my pc info via Speccy: Operating SystemWindows 10 Home 64-bitCPUAMD FX-6300 123 °FVishera 32nm TechnologyRAM16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (10-10-10-30)MotherboardGigabyte Technology Co.
