Dark Web search engine Kilos lets users find hidden marketplaces

Kilos is a search engine that’s primarily been designed for the Dark Web. It was launched in November 2019 and provides cybercriminals a platform to find answers to their dark queries, search for services on the Dark Web and find the right person to deal with for all the wrong tasks. Such as, if someone wants to deal with Bitcoin secretly, they only have to type the relevant keywords and the deed will be done.


According to researchers at Digital Shadows, Kilos is an evolved form of another infamous and now-defunct search engine called Grams. Interestingly, the functionalities of Grams and Kilos are almost identical to that of Google such as both employ a naming technique based on units of measure.

For your information, Grams was introduced in April 2014 and its indexing feature was blocked by its admins in December 2017. It served both cybercriminals and researchers but essentially it was created to facilitate cyber criminals on the Dark Web marketplace. It singlehandedly scraped many well-established cybercriminal marketplaces such as Wall St, Valhalla, AlphaBay and Hansa.
