Crime Watch - One car, two suspects, 10 identities - - Santa Monica Daily Press

On November 26, at 6 p.m.


Downtown Service Officers observed a vehicle with expired registration and a broken brake light. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and discovered the driver did not have any form of identification or driver’s license and was on probation for petty theft. The passenger did not have any identification. When the passenger was asked to exit the vehicle, he dropped a black wallet and slid it with his foot under the car. The driver could not provide any information on the car other than it belonged to a friend of hers. A search of the vehicle was conducted and multiple driver’s licenses, passports and checks belonging to others were found. Officers were able to make contact with potential victims who informed their identification and or mail was stolen. Both driver and passenger were arrested for Identity theft and Possession of narcotics.


Isabella Juniper Gonzalez, 19, from South Gate was arrested for identity theft (possession of more than 10 identifications), driving without a valid license, expired registration and failing to maintain lights in working order. Bail was set at $50,000.


John Montano, 33, from Inglewood was arrested for identity theft (possession of more than 10 identifications), possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $50,000.
