BERLIN, Md. – Atlantic General Hospital officials say that their outpatient walk-in lab and outpatient imaging department are open and fully operational.

The hospital experienced a ransomware incident back on January 29th. Leaders were alerted to the event when the organization began experiencing technical difficulties, resulting in a disruption to certain computer systems. Since the beginning, hospital officials have worked with forensic investigators and their cybersecurity consultants to assess the overall impact of the event and restore all network systems.

The hospital has continued to safely provide care for inpatients, those in need of emergency services, patients in the primary care and specialty offices, and those in other locations such as the wound center, cancer center, and behavioral health crisis center. Additionally, the hospital continued to conduct elective and emergency surgeries using downtime procedures.

Operations were affected in the organization’s outpatient walk-in lab and imaging departments during the incident, however, as of Monday, February 13th, both areas are open and fully operational.

AGH leaders are continuing to work with incident response specialists and reported the event to the FBI and are actively investigating to determine whether any sensitive data may have been impacted.
