Network security firm Fortinet announced that is has acquired Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platform provider CyberSponse. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Already a Fortinet Security Fabric partner, the Arlington, Virginia-based CyberSponse was founded in 2011. The company’s SOAR Platform enables the automation of security tools with incident management, case management, and analysis console, for simplified and faster deployment.
With the acquisition, Fortinet plans to extend the automation and incident response capabilities of solutions such as FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM and FortiGate, as well as to simplify security operations.
By combining the Fortinet and CyberSponse solutions, the security company says it will deliver a tool with an enterprise-grade scalable architecture, to help provide managed detection and response (MDR) services, and advanced case management modules with incident timeline and asset correlation views.
According to Fortinet, security teams would also be able to tap into more than 325 connectors to integrate with all major security vendors and technologies, and over 200 playbooks to automate incident response.
Featuring granular role-based access control to secure user-related data, the solution also offers a single, centralized point of visibility and control, Fortinet says.
