During the investigation, the FBI couldn’t find a single legit business being hosted on DEER.IO, which is why the bureau suspected foul play. The FBI agents also purchased stolen usernames and passwords of a gaming firm in San Diego via Deer.io to gather evidence.

In total, the bureau bought 3649 accounts that included private data and Social Security Numbers including some from the DEER.IO store SHIKISHOP.DEER.IS for approximately $170 in Bitcoin.

The warrant for the site’s seizure was issued by the US Department of Justice (DoJ). When visited the site displays a message that it is seized by the FBI following the orders of the DoJ.
